a busy ant gets by,
by treating big things like they're not
and being humble to a fault
until he realizes the distance
between him and all the things
he once knew well
has grown ten times his size
due to the menial things he's so focused upon.
the ant takes on anything
he can get his sights on
and doesn't think much about
the strain it puts on his long term.
by the looks of it,
it could be anything
under which tired eyes might give
so he sets hopes abroad,
the hope the distance brings
the worst part is that
he starts to look around
and then to you.
